Williamsburg Virginia

Dave is an an Army brat and retired from the Air Force in 2006 and is now working as an AF civilian. Debbie works in real estate for a local firm. We both enjoy the outdoors and being 'tree-huggers' as we have been called. As tree-huggers, we enjoy feeding 'our' herd of backyard deer and their friends the squirrels, birds, foxes, possums, and raccoons. Between us we have seven kids and eleven grand-kids spread out from Virginia to Texas, to Idaho to Washington.

Spring ...... uhhhhh ..... Summer is in the air!

Seems like just yesterday I was enjoying a trek through the snow in Colonial Williamsburg watching all the tourists scurry for cover and now all of a sudden it is Summer again - with the heat in tow.  Not even sure what happened to Spring to tell you the truth.

But with the return of hotter months, we also see the return of a few friends - namely eagles, ospreys, and blue herons.  Truth be told, only the Osprey strays far away over the colder months.  Of course our deer heard is always about - although the picture here was taken at Jamestown Island.

One reason spring and summer is looked forward to around here is it is gardening time!  Gardening time to me always means my sprinkle garden full bloom is just around the corner.  This year the sprinkle garden is on both sides of the drive-way next to the curb versus in the main garden in front of the front walk-way.  Debbie and I decided to switch it around this year.  Not sure what will come up, but there is a lot coming up through the mulch so it is only a matter of time before we find out - stay tuned for pictures later on.
