Williamsburg Virginia

Dave is an an Army brat and retired from the Air Force in 2006 and is now working as an AF civilian. Debbie works in real estate for a local firm. We both enjoy the outdoors and being 'tree-huggers' as we have been called. As tree-huggers, we enjoy feeding 'our' herd of backyard deer and their friends the squirrels, birds, foxes, possums, and raccoons. Between us we have seven kids and eleven grand-kids spread out from Virginia to Texas, to Idaho to Washington.

Christmas Day + 2

Well, we hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and enjoyed the time with family or friends or however you decided to spend your time.

Brian and Whitney came down on Wednesday night (ok, early Thursday morning for you exacto-types) and left earlier today.  We had a good time and plenty to eat throughout.  We started off by going to see 'Avatar' in 3-D (must see) on Christmas Eve, preceded by dinner out at the Center Street Grill in the 'New Town' part of Williamsburg.  Friend Cynthia and her son Collin joined us for the fun as well.

After opening up Christmas PJ's on Christmas Eve, on Christmas morning we received a gift from Mother Nature - four bucks adorned our backyard, including a 10-pointer.  First time that many bucks had appeared at one time - and Brian spotted them first.

We got into the stockings first thing and then opened up all of the gifts in short order (well, 'short' when compared to when I was a kid growing up where we had to wait until after breakfast, kitchen was cleaned up, and Mom had finished her coffee).  The rest of the stay seemed to be spent shopping or eating, and just for balancing sake, we slept some too.

But, we're not done yet.  Benj and Abbey fly in on Wednesday for the New Year so we'll do Christmas all over again .... can't wait.  We plan to partake in the New Year festivities in Colonial Williamsburg that evening and just relax and visit (and I'm sure shop) some more.
