Dave is an an Army brat and retired from the Air Force in 2006 and is now working as an AF civilian. Debbie works in real estate for a local firm. We both enjoy the outdoors and being 'tree-huggers' as we have been called. As tree-huggers, we enjoy feeding 'our' herd of backyard deer and their friends the squirrels, birds, foxes, possums, and raccoons. Between us we have seven kids and eleven grand-kids spread out from Virginia to Texas, to Idaho to Washington.

Holidays in Full Swing

Yep, the holidays are here .... evident by us getting into the attic for the Christmas tree and upwards of seven Rubbermaid tubs and various sized boxes of holiday decor.  We have enough holiday decoration boxes/tubs to have one per room I think.  But, we love it - the more the merrier.  Its like Christmas-time each year getting the goodies out of their 11 month hiding place.  You can always here us say "Oh wow, I had forgotten about that," or "Push the button, I want to hear the music box again," or "When is the last day we can mail the box," and finally "Do we have everything for everyone yet?"

Yes, the season is different things to different people, and depending on whether or not you have kids or grandkids, it takes on even a different meaning for each and every one of us.  It is my (Dave's) favorite time of the year as it usually means family get-togethers and cold winter nights and holiday activities for everyone.  For me, just once though I'd like us to go on a sled ride, in the snow, in the country, on Christmas Eve.  In the infamous words of Lawrence Welk - wunnerful wunnerful.

For many it is a time to reflect back on the past year and to celebrate His birth amidst all of the other festivities - for some those aspects are the focal points of the season.  However, whether you and your family concentrate on the season for reflection, celebration, or holiday cheer, we hope you all have a wonderful season!

The lighted Christmas tree is up, the candle wreaths are in the windows, the mailbox is holiday-covered and we are flying our seasonal flags.  Yep Tis the Season!
